Zero Waste Program

To achieve Zero Waste through the creation of sustainable decent jobs

The concept of Zero Waste is gaining worldwide popularity and momentum. Cities around the world are working towards zero waste as a goal.
Zero waste focuses on the design, manufacture, purchase and use of products that could be reused, recycled or composted at their end of life in order to reduce waste production.

Zero waste is not only a management approach to deal with the problems created by traditional waste management practices but also a system focused on providing solutions to end the generation of waste in the first place through prevention, product re-use and product redesign.
Zero waste is based on the “3 Rs” principle – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. In applying this policy it can also be said that Reduce will always come first and Recycling last. It’s important that even if an item cannot be reused, it must be recycled into another useful product. Recycling helps conserve energy and resources.

Let us save the world!

The best way for cities to achieve its zero waste goals is through the creation of decent jobs for people involved in collection, separation and recycling of materials from post-consumer wastes (PCW). Sustainable Decent Jobs
